DOUG ELLIOT RECREATION + MORE PHOTOS

I am kind of an ATC Photographer nerd, I can tell you who took what on which tour. I have been way into photography way before I ever owned a camera. My aunt is photographer who would always shoot at her parents house and let me play with vintage cameras. Being a fan of photography and ATC, and following whatever photographer they're on tour with which so happened to be Doug Elliot, he had posted a photo, one different from anything else I have ever seen any of the others do with Chrissy. It was something I had fallen in LOVE with and something I could recreate which is something I am all about. I am a sfx makeup artist and recreate a lot of my looks for the challenge, can I do this? For some reason I woke up today wanting to take this photo, when it is fucking 18 degrees with a windchill of 4...I was so unmotivated to head outside. So I asked James Lynd, someone I would call friend, a photographer who was just on tour with Half Lives and currently on the Rejex tour with Bronnie, he's also taken some sick shots of Against The Current over the years! As someone who doesn't like to photograph in the cold I was surprised he said I should do it. But I did and I don't think I have ever shot so fast so perfectly in focus. Luckily it wasn't as windy as it has been or there would have been no chance in hell that photo would ever be taken.

It was super sunny too, so I had to find spots where the sun wouldn't hit the camera, casting it into my eyes, although as you'll see that created some very cool lens flare. After shooting in different spots and getting what I thought were okay results, I came back in and showed them to James, because why not ask someone who knows far more than you do? He loved them so I literally thought "fuck you'll wanna see more" So I went back out into the frigid temps. But I am so glad I did, because that is when I ended up with the shot. When I posted this a lot of you seemed to love it but I really hated it at first and it took some time for me to warm up to it. I am very happy I did it, happy I shared it because you guys seem to love it AND Doug Elliot LIKED my photo!!!!
