TRAVELLING: MISSING/DELAYED FLIGHTS

I am not a fan of missing flights or delayed flights. It involves lots of waiting and in most cases lots of running which we know I DO NOT DO! 😂 (Once I had to run in wedges, NEVER AGAIN!!) In my past post I talked about flight from Minnesota. That trip there and back involved running in a huge airport, O'Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The flight to MPLS (Minneapolis - Saint Paul International Airport), although I ama veteran when flying. I did not check the screens to see if my flight was on time and still at its original gate, I stupidly relied on my airline app, given though it has done it's job in the past. For some reason that day it did not want to update, so it did not notify me about the gate change. My flight was scheduled to leave in 10 minutes and was on the other side of the airpoirt. So I ran my ass off! Luckily, but a bit annoying, it got delayed so I really did not have to run at all! I thought I was going to pass out once I got there. On my way out of MPLS my first flight had gotten delayed, making me wonder if I would miss my connecting flight. As the time kept changing from 30 minutes, 1 hour to 15 minutes delayed and so on. I had asked an agent if they think I would be to make it. The woman said yes. Once again upon arrival with about 15 minutes to connect my gate had changed and I once again had to run.
Now believe it or not, missing flights and flight delays were a lot scarier when I was younger, I would say until I was 17 because the decisions were not mine to make because I was not old enough to make them. I don't remember when this was but I was set to fly out at 5pm but the flight became delayed, not knowing what was wrong, I decided to wait a while. Turns out the windshield was cracked and they were trying to fix it. They finally fixed it around 8pm, with ducktape, nothing but duck tape. I probably was still safe enough to make my connection, but did not feel comfortable flying on a plane with a ducktaped windshield so I rebooked my flight, got home at 12am and left for the airport again at 3am! Before I had these choices I would sit in a room full of tvs, games and toys. Sometimes the unaccompanied minor room would be really cool or other times very boring. This is how I've seen the movie Sandlot like 5 million times. When I would miss flights during this time I would be scared that I would be stuck at the airport overnight as most of the time I was at that airport for several hours if I had missed a flight. Once I was at O'hare for 8 hours and did not leave until 10pm. This wasn't so scary because I have family in Chicago. I have also had unaccompanied minor agents also take me to the wrong gate and have to come back and get me to take me to the right gate.
